So It Begins…
I saw this just before Halloween in my neighborhood Pavillions and didn’t want to believe it. The seasonal aisles at Rite Aid and Target still had costumes, Halloween candy, and pumpkins going for yards. Sure, Hallmark had been sending me notices on Christmas ornaments, and there had been hints of holly just around the corner once Labor Day passed. However, I decided to ignore it.
Now I realize I can’t pretend any longer. I just heard my first Christmas-carol-turned-commercial-jingle during lunch and observed the seasonal shelves at Target bypass Thanksgiving decor for fake snow and Santa.
Don’t mind me. I’ll be hiding in the trunk of my car until the mayhem blows over.
